CHURCH KEYS POLICY UPDATE
Friday, March, 14th, 2025
In keeping with our Insurance Policy and the Directives from our Archeparchy, Holy Family Parish had to eliminate the number of key holders that presently had access keys to the Parish building. In order to do that, it was necessary to create a policy that outlines who is authorized to hold keys and establish directives which clearly spell out the responsibility of a key holder. Since our records did not match the records from our Security System, it was impossible to know who is in possession of keys to Holy Family. The only solution to this dilemma was to change our locks and follow our Policy as to who will be given a key. The key Policy outlines strict control in the issuance of the keys, the return of keys and the transfer of keys. Under no circumstance should one transfer their key to another without going through the prescribed process.
On Thursday, March 06, the locks have been changed and new codes were given to those who hold a position at the parish that authorizes them to hold keys eg; Pastor, Office Manager, Parish Council Chair, Security Monitors (when alarm is set off at any hour), Sacristan and a key to organizations that need to perform their tasks when office hours are closed. All other members who need to access the Church should do so when the Church is open on Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am – 12:30 pm, 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
